Aer Arann Means Business in Shannon
Monday October 11th: Aer Arann has announced that it is to increase the frequency on its Aer Lingus Regional Shannon to Manchester franchise service to a twice daily service every Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
The increased frequency will allow passengers to travel day return to Manchester and vice versa eliminating the need for an overnight stay in either region, which is sure to appeal to the many business passengers using the service.
The new services are on sale from today and will begin operating on October 31st. To celebrate the new flights a special sale fare of €19.99 one way including taxes will be available until October 30th with travel from October 31st to the end of March. Bookings can be made on www.aerlingus.com
Commenting on the announcement Aer Arann Corporate Affairs Director Andrew Kelly said “We are delighted to offer increased choice and flexibility to customers using this service.
Since it first launched in July 2010, the service has proved extremely successful and we are responding to passenger requests to increase the frequency on this route to offer day return services, and we are confident this will bring even more new passengers on our flights linking Shannon with Manchester.”
Also commenting on the announcement, Aer Lingus Director of Communications Declan Kearney said “Aer Lingus Regional services have enjoyed strong support from customers since their launch earlier this year. Aer Lingus welcomes the introduction of these additional services from Shannon and wishes Aer Arann continued success.”
Shannon Airport Director Martin Moroney said “The Aer Arann/Aer Lingus Regional service has only been operating from Shannon since July and this expansion is a major vote of confidence in the route. Shannon will now have a double daily service to Manchester four times a week and we look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Aer Arann”.
Daily flights to Manchester will also continue to operate every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Aer Arann also operates Aer Lingus Regional services from Shannon to Birmingham, Bristol and Glasgow as part of its franchise agreement with the national carrier.
